Product Description

The 60s Les Paul Sound You Grew Up Hearing

This Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s in Unburst is the sound of classic records brought into the present day. No weight relief, real mahogany and maple, slim 60s neck, and a pair of Burstbuckers that go from glassy to molten with a twist of your volume knob.

Photos are of the actual guitar, serial 204150097. It comes in at a very comfortable 8 lbs 15 oz (8.9 lbs), which is right in that sweet spot where you get big Les Paul punch and sustain without wrecking your shoulder on a three set night.

No Weight Relief, All Les Paul Punch

The core of this guitar is a solid mahogany body with no weight relief and an AA figured maple top. That combination is why Les Pauls have that thick low end, vocal midrange, and the way notes seem to bloom after you pick them.

The gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish lets the wood resonate instead of choking it under a plastic shell. You feel the whole guitar come alive against your body when you dig in, and unplugged it already has that loud, piano like ring you want from a serious Les Paul.

SlimTaper 60s Neck That Stays Out Of Your Way

The SlimTaper 60s neck profile is fast and familiar if you like a thinner carve, but it still has enough shoulder to keep chords feeling solid. It is the kind of neck that lets you move from open chords to high fret runs without ever thinking about the guitar.

The 12 inch rosewood fingerboard radius and medium jumbo frets make bends feel buttery and controlled, with no choking out when you get aggressive. Our Player Perfect setup dials in the action, intonation, and nut slots so it plays clean and buzz free right out of the case.

60s Burstbuckers: Classic Bite With Modern Clarity

The 60s Burstbucker pickups give you that tight low end, clear top, and rich midrange that defined so many rock, blues, and fusion tones. Clean, they stay articulate and glassy, perfect for edge of breakup and worship tones where every note needs to sit just right.

Kick some gain at them and they sing with harmonic content and sustain, but they never turn into mush. The hand wired harness with Orange Drop capacitors and traditional 2 volume, 2 tone layout means your controls actually do something, letting you ride the knobs for everything from crisp rhythm to fat lead without touching your amp.

Rock Solid Hardware, Built For The Stage

An ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum stop bar tailpiece anchor the strings for rock solid tuning and focused attack. Nickel hardware naturally ages with you, and it all feels solid and familiar under the hand.

Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons keep tuning stable through bends, big vibrato, and weather changes. A GraphTech nut keeps things gliding smoothly, so you spend your time playing instead of fighting the guitar.

Ready To Gig, Record, And Stay In Your Stable For Life

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The big difference is feel and response. The 60s has a SlimTaper neck that feels faster and a bit sleeker, while the 50s model has a chunkier, rounder carve. Tonally they are in the same family, but the 60s Standard often feels a little tighter and more immediate, which a lot of rock and fusion players love. If you like a slim neck that stays out of your way, this is the move.
For a no weight relief Les Paul, 8.9 lbs (about 8 lbs 15 oz) is actually very comfortable. Plenty of classic Les Pauls push well past 9.5 or even 10 lbs. This one sits in that sweet spot where you still get the full low end punch and sustain that come from a solid mahogany body, but it will not feel like a boat anchor on a long gig.
You get the Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s in Unburst shown in the photos, a Gibson hardshell case, and the Gibson accessory kit. On top of that we include our full Player-Perfect setup, pro packing, and free 2 to 3 day shipping. It is ready to go to work the moment you crack the case.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
Call us at (888) 794-8482. You’ll talk to a real musician who can answer anything you need to know.
