Product Description

Neck-Thru ESP Firepower With Sustain For Days

If you live on the heavier side of the dial, this ESP LTD MH-400M is the kind of super strat that makes you play faster, tighter, and meaner without fighting you. Neck-thru mahogany, real Seymour Duncans, and a Floyd that begs for abuse all come together in a guitar that is built to rip, not just look the part.

Neck-Thru Mahogany Chassis That Just Sings

The heart of this MH-400M is a full mahogany body and top with neck-thru construction. That long maple spine running all the way through the guitar gives you tight low end, piano-like sustain, and a smooth bloom on held notes that bolt-on designs just do not match.

The natural satin finish lets the wood breathe and keeps the feel fast and non-sticky under your picking arm. Visually, the warm mahogany and black hardware combo looks classy and lethal at the same time, so it works just as well in the studio as it does under stage lights.

Thin U Neck, 24 XJ Frets, Zero Roadblocks

The 3-piece maple neck is carved into ESP’s Thin U profile, which hits that sweet spot between flat and full. It fills your hand just enough for solid rhythm work but stays slim and effortless for fast alternate picking and big stretches.

On top you get a pau ferro fingerboard with a 350mm radius and 24 extra jumbo frets, so bends feel buttery and vibrato is easy to control all the way up to the 24th. Real talk, between the flat-ish radius and XJ wire, this thing practically dares you to play one more run every time you think you are done.

Seymour Duncans And A Floyd Rose Built For High Gain

Electronics are dialed for serious work. A Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck gives you glassy cleans and smooth, vocal leads, while the Custom-5 in the bridge brings tight lows, aggressive midrange, and enough cut to slice through a dense mix without getting fizzy.

Both pickups are direct-mounted to the mahogany for extra punch and immediacy. The Floyd Rose Special locking trem and locking nut let you dive-bomb, flutter, and squeal without living at the tuner, and the Grover tuners keep everything rock solid when you are not abusing the bar. Volume, tone, and a 3-way switch keep it simple so you stay focused on the music, not a control lab.

Pro Features, Working Player Price

This LTD 400 Series is built for players who gig, record, and rehearse hard, but do not want to burn custom shop money to get pro-level feel and tone. You are getting neck-thru construction, name-brand pickups, a real Floyd system, and quality hardware in a package that punches way above its price tag.

And because this is Moore Guitars, the pictures you see are of the actual guitar you will get, serial W17121644. It is been inspected three times, dialed in with a free pro setup by techs who are real players, and it is sitting in our shop right now ready to ship. If you want the kind of ESP that makes you reach for one more riff every night, this MH-400M will get you there.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

It is absolutely built with modern metal and shred players in mind, but it is not a one-trick pony. The Seymour Duncan Jazz neck pickup gives you smooth cleans, soulful lead tones, and even jazzy warmth if you back the tone off. The Custom-5 bridge can go from tight high-gain rhythm to big rock crunch and punchy clean parts with a quick twist of the volume knob. If you play in a cover band, modern worship context, or do a lot of studio work, this one guitar can honestly handle a big chunk of your set.
Set up correctly, the Floyd Rose Special on this ESP is rock solid. The locking nut clamps the strings so tuning stays put even with deep dives, flutters, and harmonic screams. Our techs are all players, so before it leaves the shop they stretch the strings, set the spring tension, and make sure the knife edges and studs are dialed in. If you are newer to Floyd systems, we are happy to walk you through tweaks and string changes so it stays stable night after night.
Neck-thru changes the game in two big ways. First, sustain and resonance: the neck runs all the way through the body, so vibrations travel through one continuous piece instead of stopping at a neck joint. You get tighter lows, longer sustain, and a very immediate attack. Second, upper fret access: because there is no chunky heel, the transition to the body is smooth, so hitting the 20th to 24th frets feels natural instead of cramped. If you live up high on the neck for solos, sweeps, and tapped lines, neck-thru feels like cheating in the best way.
Yes, the pictures on this page are of the exact guitar you are buying, not a stock image. The serial number is W17121644, and this specific guitar has been inspected three times and set up by our in-house techs. What you see is what shows up at your door, right down to the grain pattern and the way the satin finish catches the light.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
