Product Description

The Holy Grail, Within Reach

Let’s be real. For most of us, getting our hands on a legit 1959 Les Paul Standard is a dream. But this Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Standard isn’t just another copy. It’s a painstakingly crafted tribute, built in direct partnership with the Gibson Custom Shop to bring that holy grail experience to the rest of us. From the classic ‘open book’ headstock to the long neck tenon, this guitar is built to feel and sound like the real deal.

The foundation is pure Les Paul: a solid mahogany body capped with a maple top and a stunning AAA flame maple veneer, all finished in a vintage gloss that lets the wood breathe. The one-piece mahogany neck has that legendary ’59 Rounded Medium C profile that’s arguably the most sought-after neck shape in history. It’s a comfortable, substantial feel that invites you to dig in.

Genuine Gibson Custombucker Tone

Here’s where things get serious. This isn’t just ‘vintage-voiced.’ Epiphone has loaded this ’59 with a pair of actual Gibson USA Custombucker pickups. These are the same PAF-style humbuckers you’ll find in Gibson’s Custom Shop reissues, and they deliver that iconic, articulate, and harmonically rich tone that defined a generation of music. Paired with top-shelf electronics like CTS pots and Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors, the sonic authenticity is simply unreal.

Built for a Lifetime

Every detail is here, from the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Gibson Historic Reissue Aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece to the Epiphone Deluxe vintage-style tuners. It all comes protected in a proper brown and pink hardshell case, just like the originals. This isn’t just a guitar; it’s a piece of history, remade for the modern player.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Classic Rock • Blues • Hard Rock • Jazz

Tone

  • The bridge Custombucker delivers that legendary PAF bite and midrange growl, perfect for cutting rock riffs and articulate solos.
  • In the neck position, you'll find warm, vocal, and buttery tones with incredible clarity for soulful leads and complex jazz chords.
  • The middle position offers a chimey, open sound that cleans up beautifully, getting you right into that coveted 'woman tone' territory.
  • These pickups are incredibly responsive to your pick attack and the guitar's volume controls, blooming with harmonics when you dig in and cleaning up to a glassy shimmer when you roll back.

Playing Feel

  • This guitar has the substantial, resonant feel you expect from a great Les Paul, balancing comfortably on a strap for hours of play.
  • The '59 Rounded Medium C neck profile is a dream. It's a full, comfortable handful without being cumbersome, while the rosewood fingerboard and medium jumbo frets make for effortless bending and vibrato.
  • Thanks to the long tenon set neck construction, the guitar resonates as one solid piece of wood. You can feel notes sustain for days.
  • This is a player's guitar, through and through. It's built to be played hard and for long sessions, feeling instantly familiar and inspiring from the first chord.

Versatility

  • From warm, articulate cleans to gritty, classic rock crunch, the Custombuckers cover an immense sonic range with authority.
  • This is a fantastic pedal platform. It loves being pushed by your favorite overdrive, and it handles fuzz and delay with vintage-correct character.
  • In the studio, this guitar is a workhorse. It's the sound of countless classic records for a reason, sitting perfectly in a mix.
  • The articulate midrange and clear top end ensure this Les Paul cuts through a dense band mix without ever sounding harsh or brittle.
