Product Description

The Tone That Launched a Thousand Riffs

There are few guitars as iconic as the ES-335. From blues legends to rock gods, its warm, resonant voice has defined genres. This Epiphone ES-335 in Vintage Sunburst brings that legendary semi-hollowbody design into your hands with authentic tone and killer looks, all at a price that feels just as good as it plays.

Classic Tone, Modern Punch

At the heart of this beast is a pair of Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers. These pickups deliver that sought-after vintage warmth, with a smooth, vocal quality in the neck and a bridge position that has plenty of bite and midrange cut. The layered maple body and solid maple centerblock work together to produce incredible sustain and fight unwanted feedback, giving you the confidence to crank it up. Whether you’re playing clean, glassy chords or saturated lead lines, this guitar sings with a voice that is both familiar and inspiring.

Effortless Playability

The Rounded C mahogany neck feels instantly comfortable, like an old friend. It’s substantial enough for grabbing chords but still fast enough for intricate solos. The 12-inch radius laurel fingerboard and medium jumbo frets make for buttery string bends and a low-effort playing experience. From the 60s Kalamazoo headstock down to the reliable LockTone hardware, every detail is crafted for performance.

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Anatomy of a Tone Machine

Perfect for: Blues • Rock • Jazz • Indie

Tone

  • The bridge pickup offers a punchy midrange with plenty of grit and articulation.
  • In the neck position, you'll find warm, vocal-like tones perfect for smooth leads and full-bodied chords.
  • The middle position gives you that classic, slightly scooped "quack" with a beautiful, open character.
  • Responds beautifully to your pick attack; dig in for more growl or ease up for glassy, clean tones.

Playing Feel

  • The semi-hollow construction provides a balanced feel, comfortable for both sitting and standing.
  • The Rounded C neck profile is a perfect middle-ground that feels great for any playing style.
  • Very responsive, with the maple centerblock adding a satisfying snap and sustain to every note.
  • A true workhorse that remains comfortable and inspiring even after hours of playing.

Versatility

  • Excels at everything from clean jazz to overdriven blues and classic rock.
  • Takes pedals like a champ, especially drive, fuzz, and delay pedals that love its warm foundation.
  • Records beautifully, providing a full, rich sound that sits perfectly in a mix without much effort.
  • Cuts through a live band mix with authority while retaining its characteristic warmth.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The solid maple centerblock is key to the ES-335’s magic. It increases sustain and gives the notes a bit more attack and clarity compared to a fully hollow guitar. Most importantly, it drastically reduces the feedback that can be an issue with hollowbodies at higher volumes, making it a versatile stage and studio machine.
These pickups are designed to capture the sound of prized vintage PAF humbuckers. They use Alnico magnets to deliver a warm, rich, and dynamic tone. They clean up beautifully when you roll the volume back and can really scream when you push them with some gain, offering a huge range of expression right from the guitar’s controls.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
