Product Description

Vintage Vibe, Modern Access

Meet the Epiphone Les Paul Special Double Cut, a guitar that blends timeless tone with contemporary playability. Right off the bat, that stunning AAA Figured Maple Veneer top in its Bourbon Burst finish grabs you. It’s a classic look, but the double-cutaway mahogany body tells you this instrument is built for performance, offering effortless access to the upper frets for those soaring leads.

PAF-Inspired Power

Under the hood, this Les Paul is loaded with a set of Epiphone’s acclaimed ProBucker pickups. The ProBucker 2 in the neck and a slightly overwound ProBucker 3 in the bridge are crafted with Alnico II magnets, just like the legendary PAF humbuckers of the late ’50s. This pairing delivers a rich, warm voice with a sparkling top end and a solid, punchy low end that’s incredibly responsive to your picking dynamics. From smooth, vocal-like neck tones to a bridge pickup with enough grit and edge for lead work, these pickups cover a massive sonic territory.

Fast, Comfortable Playability

The neck is where this guitar truly shines for the modern player. The Mahogany neck is carved into a 60s SlimTaper™ profile, a fan-favorite for its speed and comfort. Combined with a 12-inch radius Rosewood fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets, it’s a platform built for both chording comfort and effortless string bending. The glued-in, set-neck construction ensures a fantastic transfer of resonance and sustain through the entire instrument.

Rock-Solid Hardware

Epiphone didn’t cut any corners on the hardware. A LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece provide precise intonation and killer sustain, while Grover Rotomatic tuners keep your tuning locked in, no matter how hard you play. With quality components like a Graph Tech nut and a dual-action truss rod, this is a roadworthy guitar ready for the stage and studio.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Great question. While the core Les Paul sound is all there, the double-cutaway body provides a slightly more open, airy resonance and a bit more ‘snap’ in the attack. Tonally, it’s subtle, but the biggest difference is the incredible access you get to the upper frets, which really opens up your playing.
They are definitely in the same family. Both are inspired by the original PAF humbuckers from the 50s. The ProBuckers use Alnico II magnets to deliver that warm, vintage-style output that players love. They offer great clarity and dynamic response, making them a fantastic and authentic-sounding pickup.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
