Product Description

A Modern Classic, Hot-Rodded

The PRS Silver Sky is what happens when a legendary guitar builder and a legendary artist team up. It’s a masterclass in vintage feel and modern reliability. This pre-owned 2019 model in Dodgem Blue is a prime example, but with a fiery secret under the hood. It’s been given a full pickup swap, loaded with a set of Seymour Duncan Red Devils for a voice that’s pure Texas hot-sauce sizzle.

The Red Devil’s Voice

Let’s get right to it. The original pickups are gone, and in their place is a set of Billy Gibbons’ signature Red Devil pickups from Seymour Duncan. These are single-coil-sized humbuckers designed to deliver fat, PAF-style tone. The bridge pickup is wound extra spicy, perfect for beefy riffs and leads that cut. The neck and middle positions are dialed back just a touch, offering sweet, smoky blues tones that are perfect for clean chording or chunky rhythm, but they still have the horsepower to scream when you dig in.

Vintage Feel, Modern Playability

This Silver Sky feels like a well-loved classic. The 635JM neck profile is a nod to vintage shapes from ’63 and ’64, comfortable and substantial without being too chunky. Paired with the 7.25″ fretboard radius, it’s a dream for chording and rhythm work. The alder body provides a balanced, resonant foundation, while the steel tremolo and vintage-style locking tuners ensure you can get expressive without knocking your tuning out of whack.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

Great question. The Red Devils are single-coil-sized humbuckers, so they give the guitar a much fatter, hotter, and more aggressive voice than the stock single-coil pickups. Think classic, PAF-style humbucker tone with that Texas sizzle Billy Gibbons is known for. You get more power, more midrange punch, and zero hum.
While the Red Devils are humbuckers, they are known for having airy highs and great clarity. The 5-way switch still gives you access to those in-between positions, so you can get tones that have some of that classic quack, but with a thicker, more powerful character. It’s a great blend of vintage inspiration and hot-rodded muscle.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfectâ„¢ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
