Privacy Policy

We sell guitars, not data.

At Moore Guitars, we are musicians, not data brokers. We respect the relationship we have with you. That trust extends beyond the gear we ship to the personal information you share with us.

We know that reading a privacy policy is usually about as exciting as listening to a drummer tune their kit, but we want to be 100% transparent about how we handle your info.

By using our site, you’re cool with the practices laid out below.

1. What We Collect (And Why)

We don’t ask for info just for the sake of having it. We collect what we need to get the gear from our shop to your door.

A. The Basics You Give Us

When you place an order, create an account, or apply for financing, you give us the standard stuff:

  • Who you are: Name, phone number, email.
  • Where you live: Billing and shipping address (so the UPS driver knows where to drop the box).
  • How you pay: Payment details.

B. The Behind-the-Scenes Stuff

When you browse the site, our servers automatically pick up some technical data—like your IP address, what browser you’re using, and which pages you visited. This helps us figure out if our site is running slow or if everyone is suddenly looking at Telecasters today.

2. How We Use It

We use your data to do the job you hired us to do:

  • Fulfillment: To charge the card, pack the box, and send you the tracking number.
  • Support: If you email us asking about neck profiles, we need your email to reply.
  • Protection: To screen orders for fraud (because nobody wants their card used by a stranger).
  • Updates: If you opt-in, we’ll email you about new arrivals or gear drops. (Don’t worry, we hate spam too. You can unsubscribe anytime).

3. Locking It Down (Security)

We take security as seriously as we take tone.

  • Encryption: Our entire site is locked down with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. That’s the little padlock icon in your browser.
  • Payment Safety: We never see or store your full credit card number. We use top-tier payment gateways (like Stripe and PayPal) that adhere to strict PCI-DSS standards. They handle the heavy lifting; we just get a “Thumb’s Up” that the payment went through.

4. Sharing With Others (The “Need to Know” Basis)

We do not sell your data. Period.

We don’t trade it, rent it, or give it to marketing firms. We only share it with the partners who help us run the business:

  • The Money Guys: Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) and Financing partners (Affirm, Synchrony, United Midwest).
  • The Delivery Guys: We have to tell UPS and FedEx your address, or you’ll never get your guitar.
  • The Tech Guys: Trusted tools like Google Analytics (to see site traffic) and our email server (to send your receipt).

5. Cookies (Not the tasty kind)

Like every other website on earth, we use “cookies.” These are tiny digital files that help the site remember you.

  • Why we need them: Without cookies, your shopping cart would empty itself every time you clicked a new page, and your Wishlist would vanish into thin air. Cookies let you save that dream rig for later.
  • Your Control: You can turn off cookies in your browser settings, but just know that the Shopping Cart and Wishlist won’t work without them.

6. Links, iFrames, and Banks

This part is important because it involves your money.

A. Leaving the Shop (External Links)

If you click a link to a manufacturer’s site (like Fender.com) or an external financing application (like Synchrony), you are leaving Moore Guitars. We can’t control what happens over there, so check their privacy policies too.

B. The “Window” to the Bank (iFrames)

Some forms on our site—specifically the United Midwest Savings Bank application—use technology called an “iFrame.”

  • Think of it like a window. Even though it looks like you are typing on a Moore Guitars page, that window goes directly to the bank’s encrypted server.
  • Key Takeaway: We do not see, store, or touch the sensitive financial data (like Social Security Numbers) you type into those financing forms. It goes straight to the lender.

7. Kids

We sell professional instruments, not toys. Our site isn’t made for kids under 13. If we find out a minor has sent us their info without parental consent, we’ll delete it faster than a shred solo.

8. Changes to the Rules

The internet changes fast. We reserve the right to update this policy if laws change or if we adopt new tech. If we do, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.

9. Questions? Talk to a Human.

If you’re worried about your data or just want to clarify something, reach out. You’ll get a real person in Evansville, Indiana.
