Product Description

The One That Started It All

There are few guitars as iconic as the Gibson ES-335. From smoky jazz clubs to stadium rock stages, its versatile voice has defined genres for decades. This pre-owned 2024 model in a classic Vintage Sunburst finish is a fantastic example of the legend, offering that perfect blend of hollowbody air and solidbody bite that only a 335 can deliver.

The magic starts with the body: a 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple laminate top and back, complete with a solid Maple centerblock. This construction gives you the warmth and resonance of a hollowbody but fights feedback like a solidbody, letting you crank the gain without fear. The Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish looks incredible and allows the wood to breathe and resonate freely, ensuring the guitar only sounds better with age.

Modern Feel, Vintage Tone

The neck is carved from rich Mahogany into Gibson’s popular Rounded “C” profile, a comfortable shape that feels substantial and familiar in the hand. It’s paired with a smooth Rosewood fingerboard and a 12-inch radius, making both complex chord work and soaring single-note lines feel effortless. It’s a neck you can really dig into for hours.

Plug it in, and the Calibrated T-Type pickups bring this guitar to life. These humbuckers are voiced for vintage character, delivering a tone that’s both warm and articulate. The neck pickup is thick and creamy, perfect for soulful leads and jazzy chords. The bridge pickup has a fantastic snarl and bite that cuts through any mix. The hand-wired controls, featuring 500K pots and Orange Drop capacitors, ensure that every nuance of your playing is translated with exceptional clarity.

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

The Calibrated T-Types are voiced to capture the spirit of early PAFs. Compared to something like a ’57 Classic, they often have a bit more brightness and articulation, giving them great clarity without being harsh. They have a wonderful midrange character that really sings, especially with some amp overdrive.
The maple centerblock is the secret sauce of the ES-335. It’s a solid block of wood running through the middle of the body, which the pickups and bridge are mounted to. This design drastically reduces the feedback common in fully hollowbody guitars at higher volumes, while adding sustain and a solidbody-like punch to the notes. You get the woody, airy quality of a hollowbody with the stability and focus of a solidbody.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 14-Day Return Policy. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
Orders ship same day in most cases and arrive within 1-4 business days with free, insured shipping. We’ll get it into your hands as quickly as we can.
