When you choose Moore Guitars, you're not just buying an instrument!

Every guitar undergoes a thorough inspection upon arrival and a second detailed check before being carefully packed and shipped to you. Our #1 priority, is to give you the best purchasing experience in store, online, or on the phone!

A few notes from the Moore Guitars staff:

Before we get into the actual hard specs of this particular guitar, let's get an overall view of this particular instrument. This "original" 50's J45 is a round-shoulder dreadnought which gives your overall tone a truly balanced output - warm bass, clear midrange, and excellent projection. The solid Sitka spruce top and a solid mahogany body give it a perfect "place in the mix" providing the perfect "Musical Base" (not to be confused with BASS!); whether you are a solo artist or have other instruments playing along with you! And to top this all off, Gibson provided for a "vintage correct look" with a multi-ply top and single-ply back binding - slightly antiqued to create a well-seasoned, "played in appearance" without going over the top with aging - it's "just right"!

Another very important factor that can sometimes get overlooked when looking into any acoustic guitar is its scale length.  If you didn't already know, acoustic guitars normally have a scale length (the distance between where the string touches the saddle to the nut) of approx. 25.5". This 50's J45 features a 24.75" scale - a difference of 3/4" which puts it in the same "scale class" as an electric Gibson ES335 or Les Paul.  What that means to you is an entirely different string "feel".  The tension of the string "at pitch" is entirely different and provides an amazing tactile playing experience.  Lastly - if you are going to want to go electric, the L.R. Baggs™ Element Bronze active under-saddle piezo pickup gives you volume and tone control at your fingertips, as well as a truly great amplified tone.  Add in the satin nitrocellulose finish, and a Gibson Hard Shell Case just adds to the value of this wonderful instrument!

Notes from Gibson:

The new 50s J-45 Original model flaunts vintage-inspired detailing from the golden era of Gibson. Classic “Workhorse” materials include a Sitka Spruce top and Select Mahogany back and sides. The multi-ply top and single-ply back binding are subtly antiqued making each instrument look just like a seasoned Gibson acoustic. Appointed with cream button tuners, a 50s-era tortoise pick guard, and upgraded with an LR Baggs® VTC pickup for the best and most natural-sounding tone when amplified.

- Our sales staff are all musicians! What’s more important than communication? We speak your language. Whether you’re a beginner or a professional player, we’ve been in your shoes. A lot of aspects of the guitar are intangible, and a non-player just can’t understand. It’s a guitar thing. But we can talk about tone and feel in the same language you use. We know what it means to love an instrument, and we want to help you find your new love.

You should have NO disappointments when you see this guitar and hold it for its first strum. Please call the staff at Moore Guitars if you would like to have a personal on the phone description of this guitar. Thank you for looking at our listing!!
