214ce-N Special Edition. In 2024 Taylor decided to offer a VERY short run special edition gloss black version of their popular 214ce-N Nylon String guitar! These normally came with a natural top SATIN finish, but they pulled out the stops and put together a "DLX" version with gloss black finish AND a hard shell case instead of a gig bag!
With their warm, snappy tone and comfortably spaced fretboards, our nylon-string acoustic guitars make it easy for players to diversify their sonic repertoire. The 214ce-N BLK DLX Special Edition continues the trend of easy-playing nylon-string instruments while adding a bit of stage-ready visual flair thanks to a glossy black finish offset with crisp white binding. A solid Lutz spruce top paired with layered Big Leaf maple back and sides serve up punchy neo-classical sound with a high volume ceiling and rich projection, while the hand-friendly fretboard (narrower than a traditional classical guitar) offers plenty of room for fingerpicking and fretting without compromising playing comfort. Eye-catching appointments include an Italian acrylic rosette, which pops visually against the black top, and a tasteful diamond inlay scheme in Italian acrylic. Onboard ES-N electronics faithfully translate this cutaway Grand Auditorium guitar’s tone in amplified settings, and the included hardshell case provides ample protection for all scenarios.
